A Critical Appreciation of the poem “For Whom the Bell Tolls” written by John Donne.

A review about John Donne’s writing style.

Text and Style:

According to the poet, author, and inventor of Ziket and Zinet Dr. Zik’s review on this poem, from Jhelum, Pakistan, Dr. Zik says, “John Donne also used Ziket’s style skillfully in his poetry for example in the famous poem ‘For whom the Bell Tolls’ in the first two lines and the last two lines:
John Donne starts his poem in Zikorean style.
He says in the first two lines:

No man is an island,
Entire of itself

Note: The first line has 6 syllables and the second line has 5 syllables.
He gives an end to his poem also in Zikorean style.
He says in the last two lines:

For whom the bell tolls,
It tolls for thee

Note: The first line has 5 syllables and the second line has 4 syllables
In terms of percentage, the poem has four lines in Ziket’s style out of a total of 14 poetic lines. In this way, he used 29% of Ziket’s shades without knowing the short form’s name. It can be said that he was attracted by the short poetic trend which would be discovered and identified with the help of my research work afterward. In the light of my research on the modern trends in English Poetry, Jhon Donne is declared as a modern poet and Ziketeer of his time.”

I have described the structural style of John Donne’s poem ‘For Whom the Bell Tolls’ in the light of Dr. Zik’s review of his poetry. Dr. Zik says, “John Donne also used Ziket’s style skillfully in his poetry for example in the famous poem ‘For Whom the Bell Tolls’ in the first two lines and the last two lines.
