A Critical Appreciation of the Poem "About His Person". Critic: Dr. Zik
Dr. Zik the inventor of Zikorean English poetry
Professor Simon Robert Armitage
The poem "About His Person" written by the poet laureate on 10 May 2019, Professor Simon Robert Armitage from Yorkshire, England, United Kingdom, is a wonderful piece of art, regarding its structure. I like all the lines, but the under discussion are the short ones.
The poet has used 50 % Ziket's style and structure in the poem (in 10 lines out of total of 20 ones) unconsiously, as Dr. Maya Angelou did in her poem “Tears” where 100 % of Ziket's colors have been found.
John Donne in his poem “For Whom The Bell Tolls”,
And if we look far behind in past, we see the Walt Whitman who did in his famous poem “O Captain! My Captain!”:
Ziket’s Shades in the poem of Walt Whitman the inventor of Free Verse Poetry:
From the structural point of view, the poem "About His Person" is a Zikelite 50 % (50 % continuous Ziket) i.e, related to a shorter poetic form than Haiku (5,7,5) "Ziket", in English Literature in the post-modern period of English Literary History. It shows 50 % Ziket’s color throughout the reading as:
1. A Ziket consists of two poetic lines.
2. The first line has 1 to 8 syllables and the second line has 1 to 5 syllables or vice versa.
The longest Ziket has a total of 13 syllables. e.g. Walt Whitman’s
5. The shortest Ziket has a total of 2 syllables;
one syllable in each poetic line.
In the poem “Lines on the Antiquity of Microbes” Strickland Gillilan has written two poetic lines in this way, the first line contains 2 syllables and the second line has also 2 syllables.
Strickland W Gillilan has written this short poem unconsciously by the use of Ziket, a shorter poetic form than Haiku.
The poet has written 5 Zikets in 10 lines out of 20 ones to express the same theme. In this way, the poet has used 50 % Ziket's water to irrigate the beautiful flowers' bed of his poem. The research thesis on Zikorean literature is best for further study.
